Betsy Coe, PhD, is executive director of the Houston Montessori Center and a former president of the AMS Board of Directors. The founder of the and high school programs at School of the Woods, in Houston, she was the AMS 2008 Living Legacy and a recipient of the Montessori Accreditation Council for Teacher Education’s Wisdom of the Elders Award in 2015. AMS-credentialed (Early Childhood, Elementary I–II, Secondary I–II, Administrator).
